Camden Arts Centre London, 18 June – 4 September 2016

In Summer 2016 celebrated Nigerian-born, British fashion designer and curator Duro Olowu will fill all the galleries with the next in Camden Arts Centre’s series of artist-curated shows which began in 1999 with Richard Wentworth’s Thinking Aloud and continued with shows by Simon Starling and Tacita Dean amongst others. Including painting, sculpture, images, materials, costumes, objects and video that inspire Olowu’s rich and eclectic approach to textiles, the exhibition will be a visual collage steeped in European and West African aesthetics, colourful compositions alongside representations of costume and the body in portraiture. The show traces geographical movements and the legacies associated with cloth and pattern and will present historical works and new commissions.
